Our Delta-8 is a cannabinoid that comes from the hemp plant. Technically, “Delta-8” refers to the full name “Delta-8 THC.” In terms of the actual substance, Delta-8 THC is very similar to Delta-9 THC, the main compound that you probably think of as associated with some of the effects you get from cannabis.

In terms of the way it affects people, think of it in the middle of a scale between Delta-9 THC from cannabis (which has psychoactive effects) and CBD (which offers benefits like easing body pain, but has no psychoactive effects).

For many people, Delta-8 is a great “Goldilocks” product that’s not as strong as Cannabis’s Delta-9 THC but still has noticeable effects.

Everyone’s body is unique and different. That’s why we offer free samples and 2-packs, so people can try SPIKE and see how it affects them. But overall, our customers have told us they experience: elation, a reduction in social anxiety, positive feelings, an easing of body pain, euphoria, more energy, and restful sleep a few hours after taking SPIKE, among other things.

No. Despite hemp being federally legal, some states have chosen to restrict the sale of Delta-8. Ironically, these are often states where cannabis is legal for recreation or with med cards. (You’ve gotta follow the money on that head-scratcher!)

The distinction between Indica and Sativa doesn’t really carry over to Delta-8 products like ours. This is for many reasons, but one of them is that Delta-8 is just one of many cannabinoids that are found in cannabis and hemp plants. Other cannabinoids include CBD or CBN, which you might have heard of, too. Each cannabinoid produces a different effect in the body.

We find that when most people ask us this question, what they’re really asking is, “How will this affect me?” or “What should I use this for?”

Like anything hemp or cannabis, everyone experiences something a little different because everyone’s body reacts a little differently. That’s one reason why we offer free samples! Some people get contemplative, others feel relief from social anxiety and very uplifted (club time!). And many people are ready for a great night’s sleep a few hours after drinking the mixer.

One of the best things about SPIKE is that people can really tailor their dose and tell how “high” they are pretty quickly. 

Our product is water-soluble and tends to be absorbed in 20-35 minutes, so people can gauge the effects soon after they’ve taken it, take a little more or not. As we’ve said before, a lot depends on your body, metabolism, and how your body reacts to hemp products.

We suggest that if a customer has little or no experience with Delta-8 THC or other Cannabis products, they simply open a packet of SPIKE, mix the SPIKE well into a juice, sparkling water or other beverage, drink 25-30% of that beverage, then wait about 30 minutes and see how they feel. Those with experience eating cannabis gummies or other Delta-8 products will probably have a solid idea about the ideal amount to consume. If you often eat 20 mg gummies, for instance, the full packets are probably a good dose for you!

Although laws can change, Delta-8 gained federal legality as part of the 2018 Farm Bill (LINK: https://www.usda.gov/topics/hemp). The law made all hemp and hemp-derived products legal at the federal level. Since that happened, some states have chosen to impose restrictions on the sale of Delta-8. Interestingly, this is most common in states where Cannabis is already legal — we chalk it up to the fact that if it’s not regulated, governments won’t be collecting the same kinds of taxes on it and the established cannabis companies could miss out on those sales.
